So, today we slept in a little and then headed out for some errands. Went outside and it was hot, but not so bad. It was only 11 AM. Well, we go to Target, grab a few things, and then head over to Farm Fresh. We walked out the door and it was like a hot wet blanket hit us in the face! Got in the car and Bill's temperature gage read 108! Is this hell...oh no, it's Virginia! Thank goodness for AC! Glad I'm not riding around on a bike in this weather...Eric! LOL
Last night we went to see the Zohan movie. It was very funny and even had an underlying message..."peace" and "can't we all just get along", but mostly it was funny. There were a few slow spots, but some very funny stuff. B+/A-
Anyway, tomorrow we're heading to the country to visit everybody we know practically. Visit with Daddy in the morning, lunch with Daddy and Aunt Linda, visit with Bill's folks in the afternoon and then dinner with Mom. Yes, all in one day. I'm exhausted just thinking about it. But, if we go there and don't see everybody, we'll never hear the end of it! I recently spent a week back home because of a death in the family and one thing I learned is that, yes, I love the country, but my home is now in the city. Some of the people in that town are so closed minded and are living in the 1940s or 50s. While I was there I just kinda nodded and smiled at most of the things they were chatting about. No, I am not cooking dinner for my dad, he is perfectly capable of cooking his own damn dinner. Just because I'm female does not mean I come home to spend all my time in the damn kitchen! Besides, my dad is an awesome cook and I come home to have him cook for me. :-) Bill was supposed to help Dad chop up some dead trees that fell during the big storm recently that brought tornadoes to Suffolk. BUT...it's too damn hot!
Mmmm, wonder what we're having for lunch tomorrow. Mom is making us Jambalaya for dinner.
As far as the knitting goes, I have this backpack I've been working on. It's super cute, but I haven't wanted to work on it except for during Stitch A Bit lately. Stitch A Bit is a knitting group I started at work. We meet every Wednesday and have about 5 regulars. I've taught 35 people to knit so far...wonder if they've kept at it...... We're doing a knitting sale in November so I'm trying to make a bunch of stuff to sell. I think the backpacks will be a big hit for students. I also have another project going at the same time...this is a common occurance...it's a stretchy shopping bag. I'm trying my best to go green...more on that later.
Ok, that's enough rambling for now.

Bonjour!
Welcome to my blog. Here you will find occasional updates on interesting life events, my latest knitting projects, what Franklin and Eleanor (our kitties) are up to, and random thoughts/rants.
So, let's see...It's Friday and tonight my hubby (Bill) are going to see "Don't Mess With The Zohan" at the local theatre (the one where the hallway smells like urine and the tickets are way over-priced, but it's close).
Franklin and Eleanor have had their dinner (Meow Mix red snapper in sauce) and are peaceful. Wonder how long that will last! Franklin, who is just over a year old, likes to chase Eleanor, who is 10 years old and was rescued from Hurricane Katrina, around the house. It gets loud and annoying, but when they're calm they can be really sweet. Eleanor is a black short-hair and Franklin is an orange tabby short-hair. We got them both thanks to our good friend Eric. They are a constant source of entertainment.

Yesterday was our 3rd wedding anniversary. We've actually been together for 9 years, though. We had a wonderful dinner at La Bella in Ghent. I got the Pollo Al Rosmarino and Bill got the Rigatoni Piccante. Yummy! Although, I didn't like sitting quite so close to other tables. There was this lady complaining about the portabello mushroom being marinated too much in the balsamic vinaigrette. I thought it was delicious. That will probably be the place we go for special dinners from now on.
Gotta go, Franklin is trying to open the front door....
