Organized pregnancy...

Being the organized person that I am, I am looking forward to getting all the right baby books and pregnancy journals, etc. I already have a binder with a few articles I printed off the internet about what herbs to avoid and the benefits of hypnobirthing. I need more!!! LOL I have a notebook so far where I have written down a timeline of events, how many and what tests I've taken (3), the name of the local prenatal yoga place, questions I have for the midwife on my first appointment, etc... I probably wont be able to go to the bookstore until Monday since I'm going out of town this weekend to visit my friend Sara and go see The Breeders. Amusing, I know. I'm sure that as soon as Bill gets home Monday and we eat dinner I will want to run out to the bookstore. I also heard that there are earth friendly baby products at Green Alternatives. (This is so much fun, by the way!)I have to be careful not to buy a whole bunch of stuff that I wont read or use. Sorta like my yarn or pen addiction.

Speaking of yarn, while I'm in Asheville, I hope to visit a few yarn shops to find the perfect yarn for my very own baby's baby blanket. Finally I get to make one for myself! Not that I didn't enjoy making the other blankets for my friend's babies, but I have waited so long to be a mommy and now I finally get to do all this fun stuff! Mom has said she will be knitting up a lot of little gifts for the baby. I'm going to probably use green and yellow and white since we're not going to find out what we're having until it arrives. I'll have to look for a yarn that's light since we'll probably have this baby in February and it will start to get warm soon after. Hell, I might as well knit it a winter blanket while I'm at it. Doesn't take that long! And hats! I insist on bringing my own hat for the bebe to wear at the hospital and on the way home. NO PINK OR BLUE!!!! Here's one of the many baby blankets I've made for friends right before I finished it.

My husband Bill is just the cutest. He's just as excited as I am about this baby and that makes life easier and more fun. He comes home everynight and just smiles at me and asks me how I'm feeling. He's even rubbed my belly a few times even though I'm still really early. And, as we were drifting off to sleep last night he told me how excited/happy he was about the baby. We really did this right waiting until we were both ready. Although, I've wanted a baby for some time now. I have baby fever! LOL My friends with babies will confirm this. I hope I haven't annoyed them with all the "can I babysit" or "can I hold the baby" etc... Now I will have my own to play with, but I will still probably want to hold their babies too. LOL!

Still no annoying symptoms today (knock on wood). Waiting for our first appointment will be very hard though. Although, I'm fine having to wait to get my blood drawn. I am not a fan of all that! Should be interesting.....

Baby stuffs

Today I'm feeling a little tired and had a small wave of nausea about an hour ago. Mostly I'm just tired though. I made myself go to bed by 10 last night and slept until 7am. That's the good thing about living so close to where I work. I get to sleep in later!!! It's still early though. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to sleep until you woke yourself up instead of the alarm?!

Anyway, so today I've been checking out baby and maternity clothes. I really want a Phil Collins onesie, but the closest thing I could find is a Genesis one. It's cute and says "I can't walk" on the back, but I haven't decided on it yet. I also found a David Bowie, Beatles, Johnny Cash, Blondie, and Nirvana one. And check out this maternity shirt I found! Oh, and I even found a onesie with a pidgen/pigeon!

I also found this cute onesie. Speaking of which, I want to try to use the eco-friendly diapers that are chlorine free and non-toxic. Seventh Generation has a nice selection of them and they seem about as expensive as other regular diapers. I'm sure there are other earth friendly baby products out there too.

I'm going to try to eat organic as much as I can too. I have a list of things I should and shouldn't eat. One of the things I read said to eat organic if possible. That's a little more expensive, but not much. Farm Fresh had some chicken breasts that were organic so we're gonna have those tonight for dinner. Sorry Eric! :-)

Franklin has only been sleeping by my side lately and not on my belly so that's good. He gets really sweet and cuddly have he's had his dinner and a bath (by his own doing). So, about 7pm he comes over and cuddles with me while I knit or play on the computer. Eleanor mostly sleeps all day and the comes out hollarin' when she's hungry or wants attention.

Took some pictures of the Led Zeppelin onesie yesterday. Enjoy!

Baby On The Way

We're gonna have a baby! We're so very very very happy and excited!!!!!

We went home yesterday and told the family. We got this Led Zeppelin onesie and folded it up so you could only see the logo. We went to see Bill's folks first because my folks were at church. Bill handed the onesie to his mom and said "look what we got". She admired the logo and then it began to unravel and ta-da...it's a onesie and she starts hollarin and sayin "Oh my Lord", and "Oh goodness". Bill's dad starts tearing up and saying how happy he is for us. We did it, we pulled it over on them! Our goal was for them not to see it coming, and they had no clue! We then we to my dad's house for lunch and Momma and Linda were there. We did the same thing with them and Mom just stared at me for a minute and calmly asked "Are you pregnant?". I shook my head yes and they everybody started hollarin and Daddy, who was standing next to me, started tearing up and gave me a big hug. Then everybody was hugging everybody....we like to hug in our family...and it was all very happy and exciting, etc... I had called my sister earlier to tell her since she wouldn't be home. She too was very shocked and excited. We're all just busting at the seams with joy. Bill and I have been together 9 years so it's about time I guess, but we wanted to wait until we were ready, and well, we're ready and super excited!

Today I told my boss and she was very happy for me and then I told my co-workers and they're happy too. My insurance has this Future Moms program that gives me pregnancy info packet and access to a nurse 24/7. So, I signed up for that and I go to my dr for my first checkup on June 27th. I'm reading everything I can get my hands on about what to do and not to do, but also making sure it comes from a good resource, being the good Master's student that I am/was.

So, yay! We've already got names picked out. We had them picked out a while ago because we always knew we'd have kids. If it's a boy, Jackson Shane (after my cousin who recently passed), and if it's a girl, Sophia Rose (Sophia means wisdom/Rose is my middle name and my grandmother's name).
