Up and Down and Up and Down

This morning started off with lots of laughs. Franklin was being his usual cute self. He was laying on the kitchen floor taking a bath while we ate breakfast. Evidently his armpit was dirty because he continued to clean it. Then he decided it was time to clean his tail, but his tail had other ideas. So, he was pretty much rolling around on the floor chasing his tail and cleaning himself. It was very cute...I guess you had to be there, but Bill and I got quite a kick out of it. Then he jumped in the window but the blinds was most of the way down so he couldn't stand up all the way and had a funny look on his face. Again, you had to be there, but it was hilarious and made it a great start to the day.

I went off to work and tried not to think about the blood test I had to go get at 9am. It's the test they will compare to last Friday's test. They want to make sure that my beta levels have doubled or tripled which would show that the pregnancy is progressing. If the levels have gone down...well, then...I'll think about that later.

So, I go to the labcorp place where I got the blood test done last week and had the lab tech who was awesome. She wasn't there today. I tried to think of happy things so I wouldn't focus on the blood drawing part. I remembered Franklin being cute this morning. That helped until she brought me back. It was not Felicia. I really wanted it to be Felicia. I told this woman that I had deep veins and she said "Ok" like she knew what to do. Well, she put the thing around my arm...so far, so good. Stuck me and I guess couldn't get the vein and then said "wow, you have deep veins". Yeah! I just said that! So, then she pulls the needle out (Eric, I know this is making you cringe) and puts a cotton ball on it and covers that with two large pieces of tape. OK? Then she wraps the thing around my other arm (thank god I only have two!). Then I start to get light head...I feel hot and then cold...oh lord, here it comes...I'm minutes away from passing out. I see spots...spots! Wait, I can hear anything she's saying, oh, here we go....And then she's done. Whew! I said I'm gonna sit here a bit...got any water? So, I regained control of myself and drank my water and then walked out of there. Any longer and I'd have been on the floor! So, now I wait for the results....

Then, before I go back to work, I have to run an errand for work at the bookstore. I guess I hadn't completely regained my strength yet because when I went to change from my sunglasses to my regular glasses, I dropped my regular glasses on the freakin' ground, lenses down! I scratched them all to hell and now I have to get new glasses!!!!!!! F&^$*&#*^(()@#&$^!!!!! I can still see out of them, but not 100%. Yeah.

Then I go back to work and wear myself out learning a bunch of new stuff for my job...more on that later. It was a good rest of the day and I had several laughs with the co-workers.

Then we went to dinner at Amalfi's. Bill really liked the spaghetti and meatballs and I liked the lasagna ok. We got a grilled salad which was odd at first, but then I really liked it. It was grilled hearts of romaine lettuce topped with glazed walnuts, a balsamic vinaigrette and goat cheese. It was weird eating warm lettuce, but it was tasty with everything together.

It was quite a day and I'm exhausted!
